We have been to a special screening of the film and this is the first and exclusive review of ‘Baadshah’, specially for 123telugu.com readers. The movie has been directed by Sreenu Vaitla and Bandla Ganesh is the producer. Expectations on the film are sky high, so let us see if the film lives up to the hype.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: orange; font-size: large;">Story</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;">Baadshah (NTR) is the youngest and most aggressive player in the international crime syndicate headed by Saadhu Bhai (Kelly Dorji). Baadshah’s father Ranjan (Mukesh Rushi) operates a very profitable casino in Macau and he is a trusted aide of Saadhu Bhai. Baadshah’s intelligence, ambition and aggression soon put him on a collision course with Saadhu Bhai and the Don wants to finish off the young upstart. With the help of rival Dons Crazy Robert (Ashish Vidyardhi) and Violent Victor (Pradeep Rawat), Saadhu tries to eliminate Baadshah and his family.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Saadhu also plans large scale terrorist attacks in all the major metros of India. Baadshah vows to foil the plans of Saadhu and to do this, he takes the help of Janaki (Kajal) and her father Jai Krishna Simha (Nasser). Jai Krishna Simha is the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad and he is a very strict head of a joint family that also includes Padmanabha Simha (Brahmanandam).</div><div style="text-align: center;">As the story progresses, it becomes clear that there is more to Baadshah than what meets the eye. He has a tragic past and a powerful motive for taking on Saadhu Bhai. What is that motive? Who is Baadshah? How does Padmanabha Simha fit into the plans of Baadshah? That forms the rest of the story.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: orange; font-size: large;">Plus Points</span></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">NTR is simply brilliant as Baadshah. The character demands aggression, style and ruthlessness. NTR displays all three qualities in abundance. His comedy timing is spot on and the sequences with Kajal in Italy are very entertaining. In the second half of the film, he changes his appearance and dialogue delivery effortlessly, to transform into someone else (I don’t want to reveal more details). NTR’s dances in ‘Sairo Sairo’ and ‘Rangoli Rangoli’ are fantastic.</div><div style="text-align: center;">The film will be a feast for fans. There are some special sequences that have been designed to delight them. Special mention must be made of NTR’s brief appearance in the Justice Chowdhary getup. The resemblance to his legendary grandfather is just too much. In the second half, there is a very entertaining sangeeth episode based on a medley of Sr NTR’s popular songs.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Superstar Mahesh Babu’s voice over comes in at a number of crucial junctures in the first half and it is effective. Brahmanandam is hilarious as Inspector Padmanabha Simha and he is a major asset for the film. His scenes with NTR and Nasser are rib-tickling. Sreenu Vaitla has cleverly used the ‘living out a dream’ concept from the Hollywood flick ‘Inception’ to come up with Brahmanandam’s comedy track.</div><div style="text-align: center;">M.S. Narayana is perfect for the role of film director Revenge Nageswara Rao and he will make you laugh. The character has an uncanny resemblance to Ram Gopal Varma but it is not offensive. M.S. Narayana takes care of the comedy in the first half along with NTR, Vennela Kishore and Kajal.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Kajal entertains with her ‘Banthi’ philosophy and corny one liners. She looks quite glamorous in the movie. Suhasini is neat. Navdeep has done well as an evil cop. Hero Siddharth has a very small but very crucial role in the film. Nasser is effective as the strict police officer. Pragathi has come up with a surprisingly effective and entertaining dance in the sangeeth ceremony sequence.</div><div style="text-align: center;">The second half of the film is packed with entertainment. Fast paced narration, superb comedy sequences and three peppy songs (Banthi Poola Janaki, Welcome Kanakam and Rangoli Rangoli) will keep viewers happy. But the visuals look very rich and colourful. Editing could have been better in the first half. Thaman’s background score is effective and lends good support to the proceedings.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Choreography is good for all the songs. Sairo Sairo and Rangoli have the best steps. Dialogues are hilarious and the one liners are very effective. Credit must go to Sreenu Vaitla, Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat for this.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Sreenu Vaitla scores at the Box Office because of the entertainment quotient in his films. ‘Baadshah’ is no different. He has come up with some good comedy sequences in the movie. We were all shocked and pained, the second day it continued but as time passed we stopped protesting. Even then we cannot forget that pain. That anger and revenge and the urge to punish the criminals is reflected by seeing our alter ego on screen in the form of task force cops or an encounter specialist who keeps riddling bullets into the criminals. That is why heroes survive and we root for them, somewhere they satiate our thirst and such films become a hit. There is a gang war going between Nayak of Hyderabad and Harshad Bhai in Dubai. Mahankali kills everyone in the encounter. Tanisha is a film star and she is rescued by Mahankali from sexual harassment and she falls in love with because he is gutsy. Chalapati Rao his higher up doesn’t like Mahankali killing the gang members, he is Harshad Bhai’s man and is working towards removing Mahankali as he is a stumbling block. Chalapati makes the authority believe that he is Harshad’s man and gets him removed from his job and even has him jailed. How did Mahankali come out of confinement and wipe out both the warring gangsters forms the crux of the story.</div><div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, 'Nimbus Sans L', sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">Rajashekar is best suited for angry and emotional roles, he is perfect as a cop. His daring attitude, care a damn behaviour and integrity, all such qualities suit his character and if the script is perfect there is no looking back for him. But after Ankusam directors have not come up with such strong scripts and Jeevita has taken the onus upon herself to give her husband the once upon a time aura he enjoyed. She has studied his pluses and minuses and has balanced the story perfectly. The audience could identify with the tragic scenes because it dealt with the Delhi gang rape, bomb at Gokul chat and the speed required to nab the criminals all were present and that provided a good base for the story. There is no scope for boredom and Jeevita dealt the film surprisingly well.</div><div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; color: #333333; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Arial, Helvetica, 'Nimbus Sans L', sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 20px; margin-bottom: 24px; padding: 0px; text-align: center; vertical-align: baseline;">Rajashekar came up with a genuine performance, though he was ageing, he took great care not to show any traces. Jeevita did handle the film well, she did not make Rajashekar dance to any silly steps and make him do any over action. But at the same time they did not use Madhurima much in the film. Even though Jeevita must have had a meaty role for her she was right in guessing that Madhurima was quite irritating and confined her to a few important scenes. The cop and the gangster spend a lot of time talking over the phone. We heard it is a remake of a Hindi film but it is not necessary to publicise it that way as it has been dealt well. The story and narration is not new, there is more sound of bullets than dialogues. Since it is the role of an encounter specialist they have used the rifle liberally. We see a bit of Rajashekar Reddy in one of the characters who play the chief minister, cannot understand why they needed to pull him in here. Songs are less, music is bad but we need to commend Jeevita for maintaining the tempo. Camera work is bad. It is okay if Rajashekar does not give a hit, this average fare will do. There are certain kind of roles that require people like Rajashekar and he did a good job of that. Opposition leader Jawahar Naidu(Kota Srinivasa Rao) gives sleepless nights to the Chief Minister of the state (Nasser) and his only aim is to see his son Rana Babu (Prakash Raj) as Chief Minister. Does Rana Babu becomes CM ? How does Rambabu try to bring a change in the society forms the rest of the story.<br /><span style="color: red;"><br /></span></h3><h3><span style="color: red;">Analysis: </span><br />The first half of Cameraman Ganga tho Rambabu is laced with couple of heart touching scenes and entertainment. Director Puri Jagannadh has tried to establish the character of Rambabu in the first half and this hour is good in parts. The second half of Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu is the soul of the movie. Pawan Kalyan is amazing and once again has come up with a brilliant performance. Be it in comedy, his pot shots on the present state of politics has hit the bulls eye and received thumping response from the audience. The scenes like Pawan Kalyan interviewing Prakash Raj before his padayatra(the Telugu Talli episode), the cross dressers fight and the way Pawan Kalyan explains about the difference between extraordinary and ordinary women are fantastic.<br />Director Puri Jagannadh has carried the movie with par excellence and he needs a round applause for the way he has executed the script. Especially, this half of the movie deals with contemporary issues and apparently awakens social responsibility in every individual. He presented each and every element in a distinct way and apparently it will be received with a great response from the audience. Though, the climax episode have resemblance with Chiranjeevi's 'Tagore', it has been dealt in a different way as per the script. The narration is gripping through out and the song 'Melikal Tirugunte' stands out as the winner.<br /><span style="color: red;"><br /></span></h3><h3><span style="color: red;">Perspective: </span><br />Director Puri Jagannadh has done fantastic homework and has  presented Pawan Kalyan in a versatile role. The script is tailor made for Pawan Kalyan and I’m sure his fans will love it to the core. The movie has been shot in less than 3 months time and Puri has done a commendable job in showcasing what exactly he has written in the script. He is successful in using Pawan Kalyan to the potential and in fact, only Pawan Kalyan can do justice for these kind of films that deal with several burning issues of the society. Puri has targeted several politicians and several issues with elan and with a fantastic conviction. And it is a delight to watch Pawan Kalyan uttering dialogues in reference to the society.<br />though it has some limitations, the love angle between the lead pair has been showcased well. Overall, Puri Jagannadh has come up with a right script and apt star cast and Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu is a feast for Pawan Kalyan fans and normal audience. The range of the movie will depend upon the crowd pulling capacity of Powerstar and all I can say is this movie is going to set new milestones in terms of collections at box office. The openings will be huge and apparently Pawan Kalyan is going to give tough fight for the #1 position of Tollywood.<br /><span style="color: red;"><br /></span></h3><h3><span style="color: red;">Performances:</span><br />Pawan Kalyan is excellent and carried the movie on his shoulders. He marvels in dialogue delivery, comedy timing and needless to say in action episodes as well. This movie will appease all sections of audience for sure and this is a one man show. Tamanna is a delight to watch and has delivered a wonderful performance. Kota Srinivasa Rao is good and Prakash Raj is superb. Ali and Brahmanandam evoked few smiles. Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam is neat. Gabriela Bertante has delivered a decent performance. Scarlet Wilson sizzled in an item song.</h3><h3><span style="color: red;">Technicalities:</span><br />SR Sekhar editing could have been better. Shyam K Naidu's Cinematography is outstanding. Music by Mani Sharma is OK and background score is excellent. Screenplay and dialogues by Puri Jagannadh are fantastic. The last dialogue 'Ee Rashtram naa kutumbam gurinchi pattinchukokapoina nenu ee rashtram gurinchi pattinchunta' received stupedous response from the audience.
