The new chapter of the show will have two female  leads, Shrishty Rode and Rubina, along with Karan V Grover.<br /><br />Ayaz Khan who was last appeared in <i>Parichay-Nayee Zindagi Kay Sapno Ka</i> is all set to play the parallel male lead. <br /><br />According to Sumit Mittal, producer of the show, "Yes, Aamna was one of  the strongest contenders for the role, but Rubina has bagged the role  finally. Excerpts:<br /><br /><b>You played an NRI in your previous serial Rab Se Sona Ishq.  In Kaisa Ye Ishq….Ajab Sa Risk Hai, you are playing the same once again.  What prompted you to play an NRI twice? </b><br />(blushes) It is simply a coincidence. I feel that may be because I can carry both the Indian and Western look well.<br /><br /><b>Are you playing a character similar to Jazz in Rab Se Sona Ishq? </b><br />They aren’t similar but two different characters.<br /><br /><b>You had left a daily soap because of health reasons. Why are you taking up another daily soap? </b><br />I was ill then, but am better now. That is why I took up this show.<br /><br /><b>What attracted you to this project? </b><br />As I said, I can carry off both an Indian and Western look well that  not every actress can do. Also, the show has a very nice and promising  storyline. It is both funny and serious; it is something that people may  connect to. Married women will really identify with it as Simran who  has a very sweet father, will be now having a very strict father-in-law.  Many newly married women may be able to connect with that.<br /><br /><b>This show is based in Haryana. Will you be speaking in the Haryanvi language? </b><br />To start off, I will be speaking in English. Maybe, Simran will pick up the Haryanvi dialect later.<br /><br /><b>What will Rajveer do to make Simran feel at home in his place? </b><br />It’s not just Simran who is trying to adjust in the family. Even the boy  Rajveer is attempting to fine-tune. That is all what the show is about.<br /><br /><b>What makes both of them fall in love? </b><br />I think that both find something interesting about one another. And  that is why both of them fall in love; after all, love is blind. Often  you cannot come with a particular reason as to why that happened. You  often can’t decide who to fall in love with…. it just happens.<br /><br /><b>Kaisa Ye Ishq….Ajab Sa Risk Hai has been shot in Singapore  and India. Why are so many shows being shot on foreign shores nowadays? </b><br />I think that is an eventual progression that television is making.  There are so many channels that we have to stand out in competition.  Nowadays TV channels have higher budgets and hence have the money to  shoot on foreign shores.<br /><br /><b>Tell us a few words about your co-star Gaurav S Bajaj? </b><br />Gaurav is a great guy. We have a good chemistry amongst ourselves. He is a good co-actor.<br /><br /><b>Kaisa Ye Ishq….Ajab Sa Risk Hai is about how liberal big city  ideologies blend with small town traditions. Many shows like this are  cropping up now. Is this to target both the city and rural crowd? </b><br />Certainly, also these shows are quite educative. Rural people may  find city folks queer and vice versa. In villages, people may look at  city people in a baffled way while city folks may look on at them  strangely. So, a show like this strikes a chord for both.<br /><br /><b>Are you similar to Simran, the character you are playing? </b><br />I do dress like her but I do not have any other similarity though. I  do not think I would relocate to a rural place to educate people like  her. I agree that it is a good thought but not something that I would  like to do. I do not think that is practical. Secondly, I would like a  nice married life and would not like to struggle with my in-laws.<br /><br /><b>So, you do agree that your show is showing something that isn’t practical? </b><br />It may not be practical for Sukirti, but it is practical for Simran. I  have many modern and educated friends who are staying in very interior  places after marriage. It is after all a personal choice. It is just  like you may like ice-cream and someone else may not.<br /><br /><b>Are you open to doing reality shows? </b><br />I do not mind doing a dance reality show.<br /><br /><b>Would you like to be a part of Bollywood? </b><br />I am not dreaming about Bollywood as of now but if I get a role in a  film, I am open to doing it. I am not obsessed with the idea of being a  part of Bollywood.<br /><br /><b>So, you are happy with television? </b><br />Yes, I am happy with television. Excerpts:<br /><br /><b>What’s your feeling on  <i>Junoon - Aisi Nafrat, Toh Kaisa Ishq</i> crossing 100 episodes? </b><br />(smiles) I feel very proud and happy and would like to congratulate  everyone who have put in their hard work into this. As a matter of fact,  everyone who has worked behind the scenes should be appreciated and  congratulated for they have created a wonderful character called Prithvi  which I am really fortunate to play.<br /><br /><b>Did you prepare for the role of Prithvi? </b><br />(pauses) I did prepare to play this character. My producers narrated  it to me and after that, I used to visualize about the looks that  Prithvi would sport and what would his mannerisms be like. Without  giving a second thought I immediately started working on my look and it  took me two months to grow the moustache.<br /><br /><b>What advice would you give to Prithvi if you happened to meet him? </b><br />I would advise him to chill for a while as he is just too hot tempered.<br /><br /><b>Is it a challenge to play Prithvi? </b><br />Yes, it is a very challenging and a tough role. In fact, I never  imagined enacting a character like this. That is where I needed my peace  and silence.<br /><br /><b>What kind of feedback do you get from fans on your role as Prithvi? </b><br />I get various kinds of feedbacks. What viewers appreciate most about  the performance is my mouthing the dialogues. They like the body  language with which I carry Prithvi and the archetypal walk he has. I  don’t walk like that in real life. When my hard work is appreciated, I  really like it.<br /><br /><b>What kind of roles would you never do? </b><br />I would like to do all kinds of roles. I will cross the bridge when it comes, if I am offered a part which doesn’t appeal to me.<br /><br /><b>Would you like to play a mushy romantic hero? </b><br />Especially after doing a role like that of Prithvi, I would like to  play a soft and romantic hero the next time. That will indeed be a  complete contrast to what I am doing now. People would thereby get to  know the kind of roles I can do.<br /><br /><b>Would you like to play a historical character? </b><br />I don’t think I will get the time to play a historical character this year as I am busy with <i>Junoon</i>.  Later, I would like to play Emperor Ashoka as his character has many  dimensions. If a biopic on Ashoka is pulled off as well as <i>Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev</i>, it can be a brilliant show.<br /><br /><b>What has it been like to act with Mouni Roy? </b><br />Mouni is a very hardworking girl. The first 15 days of the shoot was a  torture but she went through the ordeal of shooting outdoors in the  scorching heat and even ran on the rocks. It was extremely physically  challenging but she pulled it off well. She gave in her very best. Kudos  to her for essaying such a difficult role.<br /><br /><b>Please say something about your producers Yash and Mamta Patnaik? </b><br />They have been like friends to me. If I would get stuck somewhere  with either the character or storyline, Mamta would clarify everything  to me. They have been awesome producers with whom I haven’t had any kind  of problems. Working with them has been a pleasure. I hope to join  hands with them again in future.<br /><br /><b>What are your hobbies? </b><br />I love photography, sports and swimming and love to spend time with  my friends. I like to do everything that a normal person does.<br /><br /><b>You have learnt a lot about direction while on the sets. Would you like to<br />direct TV serials later in life? </b><br />I wouldn’t mind doing so but I don’t think I have the patience to go  ahead.   If things don’t go my way, I get upset. That is something I  need to take care of. It is true that I take interest in whatever  happens on the sets. I exactly know where the lights are and know  exactly where to position myself before the director instructs me. It  helps an actor a lot if he is acquainted with the technical details of  the shooting process.</div>

So, I just can’t choose one of them as my favourite.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>What do you think of the historical/ mythological tale of Savitri? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Honestly, the first time I did hear the mythological tale of Savitri was right after my marriage. My mother-in-law does <i>Savitri puja</i> like many Maharashtrian women do. Some feminist women ask me as to how I  can do a role like this. They feel that a woman’s life should not  revolve around her husband. Therefore they think that it is regressive  that a woman fights for her husband’s life. I feel that the husband here  is just a metaphor. Savitri is just doing what a woman believes in  doing. The character of Savitri is very powerful and she is confident of  standing up for an ordinary belief.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>It’s natural that any woman would fight for the long life of  the man she loves. Why should one think that a woman is weak because of  that? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Those who think like that are extremists in their way of thinking.  Everyone has the right to think the way they wish to, though. I am not a  feminist but an equalist. I do not believe in competing with a man.  Feminists believe that a woman does not need a man while I feel that  both genders need one another. Savitri is currently standing up for what  she believes in. She feels that her husband is alive though others feel  that she is a crazy woman to be thinking like that. Maybe Savitri isn’t  a careerist, but she is more powerful than any woman who owns an  office.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Savitri can see spirits. Did you have any brush with the supernatural ever? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Luckily, I haven’t had any encounter of the supernatural kind till  date and firmly believe that there are spirits all around us. Especially  if a person dies without fulfilling his worldly missions, he wishes to  linger on in the earthly realm.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>A few words about your co-star Yash Pandit…</b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Yash is a very nice guy. It is not just me who thinks like that. Our  common friends think the same. He is a very diligent actor who is very  open to suggestions and improvisations.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Savitri prays to Jesus. Isn’t it nice that shows are being quite secular nowadays? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Christianity indeed has been depicted very well in the serial. Mother  Superior’s character has been etched out well too. As India is a  secular country, it is high time that we depict religious minorities in  our shows too. All this goes to prove that <i>Savitri</i> is a very different kind of a show.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Would you elaborate? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;"><i>Savitri</i> is very different from any daily soap; it is a larger than life story. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>What kind of roles would you never do? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I can never play the role of a weak and meek <i>bechari</i> (helpless) village girl. Otherwise, I am open to doing all kinds of roles. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>Of all the roles you played, which is the role that is closest to your heart? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">I have learnt a lot from each and every role that I have played. The roles closest to my heart are that of Savitri in <i>Savitri</i> and Priya in <i>Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak? </i> I have also learnt a lot from the small roles that I have played. Even from my minor roles in <i>Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Seven</i> and <i>Rishta.com</i>, I had learnt a lot. </div><div style="text-align: center;">In <i>Laagi Tujhse Lagan</i>, it was supposed to be a month’s cameo but it continued for four to five months. From that show, I learnt how to react. In <i>Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak? </i>, I learnt about improvisation. <i>Savitri</i> is very different from any show that I have done. I choose carefully from the roles I have been offered.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><b>What is your husband’s impression of your role in Savitri? </b></div><div style="text-align: center;">Rakesh (Vashisht) feels that I am very lucky in doing a role that  many male actors would die to do.
