This year has been quite phenomenal for the industry starting with Businessman, Racha, Gabbar Singh, Eega, Julayi grossed around Rs40 crs-Rs80crs. This raised the hopes in many movie lovers that a day wont be far when tollywood film crosses Rs 100crs mark. Tollywood Jakkana Rajamouli is already eying Rs 100crs mark with his high profile historical film with Rebel Prabhas as hero. In the midst of all this Puri Jagannath, the creator of Business Man is unleashing Gabbar Singh, Pawan Kalyan as ‘Cameraman Gangato Rambabu’. Even Ram Charan is having his Bollywood debut film ‘Zanjeer’ backed with ‘Yevadu’ and ‘Nayak’. Not to forget NTR’s ‘Badshah’ or Mahesh, Venky’s combo ‘Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ nor King Nagarjuna’s ‘Damarukam’.
Rs 100crs many feel may not be that difficult with growing demand for hike in ticket prices and if a film has strong story line now a days Rs 60-Rs70 crs is guaranteed. Now with craze for overseas rights growing it is only a matter of time for Tollywood film to breach the mark.
